Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is a serious financial decision.  Debts can become overwhelming, such as credit card debt, medical bills, personal loans, foreclosures and repossessions.  The stress of collection agency calls and lawsuits can have an affect on both families and individuals alike.

Bankruptcy should be considered as one option for possible debt relief and a fresh start toward a less stressful and more rewarding financial future.

Bankruptcy can stop unwanted calls, lawsuits and garnishments.

You may be eligible for:

 Chapter 7:

  • Discharges or eliminates most unsecured debts, such as credit cards, personal loans, foreclosure deficiency and some taxes more than tree years old
  • You may be able to keep your home in most cases or get out of “underwater” mortgages
  • Stops collection calls, wage garnishment and foreclosure
  • Allows you to get a “fresh start” and move toward regaining and improving your credit.

Chapter 13:

  • Reorganizes debt
  • Allows you to keep your home, even if you haven’t been paying your mortgage by allowing the Debtor to pay the “arrearage” in the Chapter 13 repayment plan
  • Stops collection call, wage garnishment and foreclosure
  • May permit “stripping” of a second mortgage in some cases, leaving you with only the first mortgage.
